Lafayette is keen to support and promote amateur portrait photographers with an artistic flair to develop their skills to become professionals. We have decided the best way to do this is to hold an annual competition to encourage photographers to develop further.

To enter the competition please create an account (click on "My account" and register) Once you are registered, click on "my account" again, and you will see a tab for the competition. You can then upload 9 of your best portrait photographs (max 280Kb) to enter the competition. By doing so you agree that the images can be displayed on our website and that you have obtained the written consent of the subject to have their image published on our site for the purposes of the competition. We will check the photographs to make sure they are appropriate and then publish them. You can upload new images at any time until the competition closes. If you wish to make comments on other photographers work, you may do so - it's always good to receive positive feedback.

First Prize: Nikon D3 Camera with a 24-85mm f2.8-4D If AF Nikkor Lens. One months paid work experience, with the potential for further employment - terms and conditions apply.

Second Prize: Nikon D700 with a 24 - 85mm f 2.8-4D AF Nikkor Lens. One months paid work experience , with the potential for further employment, terms and conditions apply. 

Whilst we may take into account comments published against your images, your photographs will be judged by three professional portrait photographers on 1st December 2010 and the winners will be notified by email shortly after. The judges' decision is final.
